FAQs & Gym Rules

How many lessons and classes can I take?

1. Lessons are permitted to a maximum of 1 hour per day per athlete.

2. Athletes are permitted to join a class and a lesson in the same day.

​

3. Athletes may take as many lessons and classes per week as they would like.

​

4. Athletes may switch coaches! It is suggested! Get as many eyes on your technique as you can.

Coaches- who should I book?

1. Angela

      - Coaches all tumbling skills from basic to advanced.

      - Coaches all 4 gymnastics events up through level 4.

​

2. Brandy, Nicole, Addison, Shelby & Hannah

      - Coaches all tumbling up through fulls and specialty skills.

​

3. All other coaches

      - Every coach in the gym can coach and spot all basic skills up through layouts.

​

4. It is suggested for athletes working below round off back handspring to book with the other coaches. Please consider leaving Angela, Nicole, Brandy, Addsion, and Hannah available for the higher level athletes. 

​

5. All coaches are personally trained by Angela (owner) and are updated weekly on coaching pedagogy, drills, techniques, and safety. We are always working to be better coaches, I will not have it any other way.

​

6. Each coach takes notes on the athletes after a class or lesson, so that the next coach can know where to pick up. We strive for continuity within our coaching staff and often collaborate during lessons!

Payments

1. Pay the coach you are working with whether for class or lessons.  Cash, check with coaches name on it or Venmo accounts are posted on the wall at the gym.

2. All coaches accept cash, or check. Nicole and Sarah DO NOT have Venmo and only accept cash or check. All other coaches will accept Venmo.

​

3. When using Venmo- please select "friends and family". DO NOT PAY your coach as a "goods and services". We will return the amount that was received, and ask you to repay the correct way. Thank you!

Booking

1. MEMBERS ONLY. All activities at Urban Technique are for members only. Email urbantechnique412@gmail.com to be added to the mailing list. We only take new members 2-3x a year.

2. Lessons open 2 weeks in advance, meaning there are new openings every day. Every Sunday/Monday at 12a midnight, 2 Monday's later will open. Every Monday/Tuesday at midnight, 2 Tuesday's later will open. So on and so forth.

​

3. If you miss booking a lesson, please add yourself to the waitlist. We have an average of 12 cancellations a week.

​

4. Openings go fast! Looking at the app at random will probably lead to a dead end. You must be diligent in booking or using the waitlist or you will not be successful.​​

​

5. 60 minute lessons can be shared by up to 3 members. 30 minute lessons can have a max of 2 members. Book under one members name and text Angela who will be attending in the group.

​

6. CLIENT IS FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MISTAKES IN BOOKING. If your name is on the schedule, then you are responsible for paying. Please check the appointments tab on your app and read the reminder texts your recieve 48 and 24 hours in advance. 

​

Changes and Cancellations

1. Free cancellations if notice is given 24 hours or more in advance.

2. If you need to cancel or have a problem with your lesson, please contact Angela even if your lesson or class is with someone else. Angela is the only one who can accept and cancel lessons and classes.

​

3. YOU WILL BE CHARGED- if you cancel a lesson or class less than 24 hours in advance. 

       - lesson cancellation charge 23-4 hours before- $20 for a half hour, $35 for an hour

       - class cancellation charge with less than 24 hours notice- full price of class

       - lesson cancellation with less than 4 hours notice or no show- full price

​

4. There is no excuse for a late cancellation. Mistakes and illness included.

5. Lesson and class spots are non transferrable. You may not substitute a friend or family member into your lesson to avoid cancellation fees. 

​​

6. There are no reschedules unless the COACH initiates it for personal reasons. If a member/client needs to change, it is a cancellation.

​​

7. It is a considered a cancellation if you are more than 15 minutes late to a lesson.

Attire

1. Please DO NOT wear skirts or sport dresses. They are hazardous to the spotting coach and to the athletes.

​

2. Please DO NOT wear pigtails in the hair. This is hazardous to the athlete.

​

3. Shoes are optional. Wear what what you would when training for your sport.

​

4. Pleas wear tight fitting clothes. Hoodies, flowy pants and large clothes are not permitted.

​

Membership

1. You must be a member to book any activity at Urban Technique.

​

2. Memberships are $35 and $10 for each sibling thereafter. Membership fees are due at sign up and every January 1 and July 1.

​

3. We accept new members through 2-3x a year through a MAGS process (mini age group sessions). These MAGS evaluation periods are announced via email. Email us to be added to the list.

​

4. If you choose not to renew your membership and want to rejoin at a later date, you will have to wait until we are accepting new clients again.

​

5. If you are a current member, all siblings are grandfathered in. They do not have to wait until the new client period. $10 per additional family member added. PLEASE TEXT ANGELA BEFORE YOU ADD A SIBLING.
